iFStudio
A downloadable program
Reading interactive fiction can be a powerful and immersive experience. Writing one, however, can be a pain.
Many interactive fiction tools require you to learn a programming language before you can write your first line of prose. You write your story around asterisks and brackets. You indent passages into strict hierarchies to represent choices. You track stats, variables, and conditions in code. And when you're finished, you may find that publishing your work means staying within the platform whose language you spent months learning.
None of this is a failure of those tools. They were built for people comfortable with code, and many of them are exceptionally powerful. But it does mean that authors who want to focus on writing must first become programmers.
iFStudio is designed to remove that barrier.
Write your story in a visual editor. Build choices, variables, conditions, and logic with buttons, dropdowns, and text fields. The underlying logic is handled in the background, so you can focus on the story rather than the syntax.
